Symudodd i weithio yng Nghaerdydd lle creodd y cwmni ''Beryl Productions'' gyda’r awdur a’r cynhyrchydd Les Mills a sefydlu swyddfa yng Nghanolfan Chapter. Bedyddiwyd y cwmni yn ''Beryl Productions'' ar ôl prif gymeriad y ffilm ''Girls Night Out'' a thra bo Quinn yn gwneud y gwaith arlunio, Mills sy’n scriptio’r ffilmiau a grëir gan y cwmni.&lt;br /&gt;

Dros y blynyddoedd mae Quinn a Mills wedi gwneud bywoliaeth drwy gyfuno cynyrchiadau animeiddio masnachol, megis hysbysebion neu waith teledu (yn arbennig ar gyfer marchnad gogledd America), â phrosiectau personol. Ymhlith eu hysbysebion mae gwaith ar gyfer y bwyd cath ''Whiskas'' a’r papur toiled ''Charmin'', a Quinn hefyd luniodd ddilyniant agoriadol y gyfres deledu Gymraeg boblogaidd i bobl ifanc, ''Jabas'' (S4C, 1989). Cyflwynodd Quinn y ffilm i gystadleuaeth Gŵyl Ffilm Annecy lle’r enillodd dair gwobr, a bu’r llwyddiant hwn yn fodd iddi ddarganfod sut y gallai ymgorffori llais newydd yn y diwydiannau creadigol. Meddai: ‘It was this experience at Annecy that made me think seriously about the responsibility of the filmmaker as a communicator of ideas and particularly the responsibility of women film makers as portrayers of positive images of women’. Gwelwyd y cymeriad eto yn y ffilm ''Body Beautiful'' (1990), comedi ag islais ffeministaidd, lle gwelir hi unwaith eto yn dod benben â dyn, y tro hwn Vince, cryfhâwr (bodybuilder) cegog, sydd â chryn feddwl ohono’i hun. Ac yn ffilm ddiweddaraf Quinn, ''Dreams and Desires – Family Ties'' (2006), gwelir Beryl yn defnyddio ei chamera fideo newydd i ffilmio priodas ei ffrind, Mandy, ac wrth geisio efelychu gwaith cyfarwyddwyr enwog mae’n achosi anhrefn llwyr. Mae ''Dreams and Desires – Family Ties'' wedi ennill 14 o wobrau rhyngwladol, gan gynnwys gwobr y rheithgor a gwobr y gynulleidfa yn Annecy a’r Cartoon d'Or (Oscars y byd animeiddio).&lt;br /&gt;

Tra bod y drioleg ar Beryl yn cyfleu syniadau am wleidyddiaeth rhywedd mae’r ffilm fer ''Britannia'' (1992) yn ymwneud ag imperialaeth gan ddychanu’r modd y mae’r ymerodraeth Brydeinig yn ei thrachwant am rym a chyfoeth wedi cam-drin cenhedloedd eraill. Yn ogystal, mae’r ffilm yn beirniadu ac yn gwatwar gwerthoedd Oes Fictoria a hefyd Thatcheriaeth. Ym 1997 enwebwyd Quinn am Oscar am ei ffilm i blant, ''Famous Fred / Yr Enwog Ffred'' (1996) a wnaed i Channel 4, S4C a TVC Productions. Mae’r ffilm, sy’n dilyn hanes anturiaethau berfeddion nos cath o’r enw Ffred, yn seiliedig ar stribed cartŵn yn y ''Guardian'' gan Posy Simmonds ac fe roddwyd iddi drac sain Cymraeg a Saesneg. Dyma’r agosaf y mae gwaith Quinn wedi dod at brofi poblogrwydd prif ffrwd a derbyniodd wobr BAFTA am y ffilm animeiddiedig orau i blant ym 1997. Prosiect arall y bu Quinn yn rhan ohono oedd yr addasiad animeiddedig a ariannwyd gan S4C, BBC a HBO o waith Geoffrey Chaucer, ''Canterbury Tales''. Quinn a animeiddiodd y bennod ''The Wife of Bath's Tale'' (1998) ac enillodd ei darluniau trawiadol o’r hen wraig enwebiad arall am Oscar.&lt;br /&gt;

Nod Joanna Quinn yw creu animeiddiadau hygyrch sy’n archwilio profiadau bywyd pobl gyffredin. Mae ei ffilmiau yn llawn sylwadau ar y natur ddynol ac mae hiwmor yn elfen allweddol. Mae Quinn yn rhoi pwys ar fanylder gan fynnu bod pob darlun unigol yn berffaith, a hynny er gwaetha’r ffaith eu bod yn hedfan heibio llygad y gwyliwr. Ymhlith y dylanwadau ar ei harddull mae gwaith yr Argraffiadwyr Ffrengig, ysgythriadau Goya, a chartwnau papur newydd.&lt;br /&gt;
